Product Description

This device performs the same electronic adjustment function as a potentiometer or variable resistor while offering solid-state reliability and electronic packaging compactness. The dual-channel device with a range of 1024 positions allows simplified adjustment in both rheostat and potentiometer divider mode applications. The AD5235's versatile programming via a Microcontroller allows multiple modes of operation and adjustment, which include direct program setting, increment/decrement control, right/left shift for 6 dB changes, and a pulse mode for direct push button control. Nonvolatile digital output pins simplify additional digital control of external devices, such as LED ON/OFF or relay setting. Multiple package daisy chaining saves additional Microcontroller pins. Extra bytes of internal nonvolatile memory are available for storing additional system constants accessible through the SPI compatible serial data interface. These devices are offered in the thin compact TSSOP 16-lead surface mount packages.
